A few weekends ago we had some lovely visitors from NY and I held a birthday brunch! :)
I'm going to split this entry into two posts since I made two main dishes with a few other accompaniments.
French Toast Casserole
You'll Need:
5 cups of bread cubes (I used Texas Toast)
5 Eggs
1 1/2 cups half and half
1/4 cup white sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 tblsp butter
1 tsp cinnamon
3 bananas, sliced
a pinch of salt
1. Line the bottom of a baking pan with the sliced bananas. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of sugar and drizzle 1 tablespoon of butter on top.
2. In a bowl, whisk eggs, half and half, 2 tablespoons of sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well incorporated.
3. Cube all the texas toast and evenly place on top of bananas in baking pan.
4. Pour egg and half and half mixture on all of the bread cubes.
5. Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes. The top will be nice and crispy with a soft and gooey inside.
Enjoy!
