Do you like it well done? (Cuz I do it well)

This weekend I brainstormed recipes for my blog with Jesse. We came up with a fun and semi-easy lunch that we cooked together. This is part 1 of our heavy yet delightfully satisfying lunch.

Take the poll on the right-hand side and share with me how you like your steak to be cooked!!

The Steak Sandwich:

Tri Tip steak seasoned with Lemon Pepper (from Trader Joe's) and grilled to medium rare. Or however you like it. I like my cow still mooing.

Let the meat sit after cooking and tent with foil to keep semi warm before slicing.

Lemon Garlic Aioli
I also made a homemade aioli to spread on the bread:
It is pretty simple but this recipe made for a pretty boring aioli taste so we spruced it up a bit.

Whisk 2 or 3 minced garlic cloves with 2 egg yolks. Gradually whisk in 1 1/2 cups olive oil. Add lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste.

Additions:
-pesto (a lot)
-lemon zest
-fresh parsley
-fresh rosemary

To Assemble:
Brush sourdough slices with olive oil and grill to toast.

*I also added a litttttleee I mean A LITTLE BIT of white truffle oil (hint for part 2 of lunch) because it is very pungent and cost me $19 a bottle. DAM!

Spread aioli on bread, place bed of arugala lettuce on one side, then grilled onions, then sliced tri tip steak, cover with other side of bread (duh).

  1. Very creative title! The only thing I DONT like about this new post is "I like my cow still moo-ing" lol

I actually do prefer my cow still actually moo-in :) that's why I didn't take the poll ha ha.

Good job though, this all looks good and I told Roman that when he passed up your lunch for shooting, he made a mistake!
