My Ethnic Roots

Shalom, Hola, and Konichiwa! Here are is my take on some more ethnic cuisine. I only went into detail with my "Whatever I had in my Pantry" Nachos! YOU try holding a camera while your hands are covered in garlic and lemon juice!

But first! My Israeli and Asian inspired meals.

I have a special spot in my heart for Wikipedia .... "Malawach or malawah (Hebrew: מלווח‎) is a fried bread that is a staple of the Jews of Yemen. Malawach resembles a thick pancake, and it consists of thin layers of puff pastry brushed with oil or fat and cooked flat in a frying pan. It is traditionally served with a crushed or grated tomato dip, hard boiled eggs. "

I don't have a blender to make tomato puree. Either way its a comfort food that brings me back to the good ol' days.

My Asian meal : Thin slices of teriyaki garlic and ginger marinated filet mignon on top of ramen noodles in a lemon, soy, and garlic sauce. With sauteed baby bok choy, mushrooms and carrots with a teriyaki and oyster sauce. I'm so glad I had left overs!!
For dinner last night I made 3 minute Nachos. Or what I like to call
"Whatever I have in my pantry"
nachos.

I started off by using restaurant style tortilla chips and jarred salsa with jack cheese.

Then microwaved it for 1:30.

Once the cheese is melted mmmmm :)

I add the ingredients I found in my pantry/ fridge: Olives, corn, green onions and fresh tomatoes.

I sprinkle a little more cheese on top and pop it back in for another minute.

Parsley and some lemon juice to finish it off. Olé!

*** You may be thinking, "Why do every one of these dishes contain green onions?" Lets thank Jesse (my boyfriend), for bringing me 4 bundles of green onions not 4 bulbs!! ***
